    Perhaps we should put the clocks forward another hour?
    Then we would have two extra hours of daylight:biggrin:

    After 20C yesterday, its felt a bit nippy today.

      I wish people would stop saying we get an extra hour of daylight...........

      We Don't.

      It just gets shifted from the start of the day to the end.

      It's about time they stopped this farce.

          It would work in England @KFF but not here in Scotland. During the winter months daylight hours are short. Would you want youngsters walking to and from school on their own in darkness?

          It's been beautiful here, sunny and windless all day with the temperature hitting 17C/63F in the sun.

                    Not sure I agree with this part as it can cause problems in northern Scotland.

                    I remember my grandfather talking about Local Time as they still had that when he was a kid and young adult. They didn't bring in GMT until was married (he wasn't the cause of it :heehee:). They brought in Summertime during WWI and Double Summertime in WWII.

                    Local time used to change by a few minutes as you went westward across Scotland as they mainly worked by 'Sundial Time'. The railways campaigned for GMT as it messed up their timetables. A pity they can't keep to time!!! :doh:

                    The current EU proposal will change all that, anyway. They're not only talking of scrapping Summertime changes but enforcing Central European Time, which is one hour different from GMT.

                    It was frosty earlier this morning but is now 38F and sunny.

                      PS.
                      The change has been delayed until 2021 – but the end of DST in Europe is now inevitable. The European Commission says it will be up to individual member states to decide whether they live permanently on winter or summer time, but once the final switch happens it will be permanent

                        Well as we will still an EU member in 2021,:frown: I think we should go for half BST and half GMT, that should put us around 30 mins different to them either way.

                        Its called a compromise, something that seems no one is able to do these days.:biggrin:
