Still no rain here even though it looked like it was on it's way yesterday
We are predicted about 6hr's worth today....if it actually arrived and fills all of the butts then we will be very happy bunnies!!
High of 14C.

Misling 12c

 

Yep we had misty dampness about 11am but that's all. I've just checked the forecast again and we are still down for rain until 6pm!! When I clicked on the satellite image we are now suppose to be under a huge blue/ yellow rain cloud. 99% chance of rain...joke!!

 

Is it going to be a drier than average May? Whose our Stats expert?

 

I don't know but here's a forecast for the next 5 days

Well in the end we had as drop or two of rain but not of any significance.....doesn't look as if any reach the water butts or penetrated the soil to any useful depth.
Oh well at least it tried!

 

It's raining here and the garden needs it badly.

 

I got 2.5mm of rain today, up till now that is 33mm this month.
Sounds quite a lot, but its mostly come in dribs and drabs, so not really penetrated to any depth, and evaporated fairly quickly the next day.
Dug down about a foot and its as dry as it is on the surface, only the clay below that has any moisture at the moment.
So it looks like only well established plants are doing ok, anything newly planted or surface rooting is struggling.
