Well, Mayo has made it to Yellow! No rain but a dratted WIND due tomorrow. Gusts of anything up to 80 or 100 kph, southerly which means it will come straight down the drive to my flowers and peas and beans. AARRRRGGGH...

Low of 17c, currently 24c going to 28c, light breeze.

There is a big fire on the West Coast started yesterday now 4 water helicopters, 437 fireman, 140 vehicles. Homes evacuated. Support in from Alentejo (Province above Algarve). Hope they contain it soon as it is windier in the coast.

Ramping up nicely now with full sound effects. I went out to check if my fortifications were working to protect my veg and flowers. The peas and beans are mostly grand but the patch of marguerites along the back is getting whipped around. Nothing more I can to except ride it out and pick up the pieces when this has passed. The food plants matter more. I must stop going out as I have done all possible. It is changing to south west which is not good

Sunny, getting quite hot and humid. Feels like rain may come but I won't hold my breath.

A warmer, drier day with a temperature, so far, of 70f. There's a gentle breeze from the South which has a nice cooling effect and takes the edge of the humid air, while the skies go from completely cloudy to showing some patches of blue. The pressure reading is 1006hpa.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Checked and it looks bad now and worse to come. One smaller stand of beans is down. The wind has changed to south westerly and there is nothing I can do to protect from the west. Had to refasten main defences and not hopeful of them. Vicious winds. Will go out once more to try to tie them all back again. For this time of year? I know. no one will starve etc for my small crops being destroyed but.. well I guess folk here will sympathise! I knew them as dry wrinkled seed.. wry smile.
