The cold wind, Force 6, is set to blow all day, with a westerly airt. . We come under marine forecasts, which cover coastal areas and 12 miles out to sea. All I can say is yawn! Darned noisy! And set to last today and Monday. One stand of my broad beans is horizontal but the other has held firm thanks to my protective measures. I am not touching anything until the wind eases off.

Good morning all light rain showers and a light breeze temp 14 to 16c
        Sunrise was 4.45
        Sunset 21.33

Got a question, if it's the longest day today, why does the time for the sunrise and sunset still get longer?

It doesn't on the charts I looked up for my area :noidea:. Sunrise got later by one minute every two days and sunset got earlier by one minute every three days. Sunrise and sunset times difer across the country depending on how far north or south you are.

Steady drizzle this morning :blue thumb:

            Sunny with a high 20C.

It just stays static for 24 hrs before decreasing I think. Obviously it depends on where you are too ...here for instance our sunrise was 4:51 and sunset is 9:23.....you have 16 mins more daylight today than us!!!:dbgrtmb:

Currently 16°C with some sun, 10mm of rain overnight so everything is wet, rising to 18°C later.

Orkney was interesting re longer/shorter days. They advertised playing golf at midnight in summer. Winter "days" were dark.

Sudden very heavy deluges out here now.

Thank you both @shiney and @Upsydaisy here it increases sometimes the sunrise and then sometimes the sunset, I think that on Tuesday it starts to decrease with the sunset.

Still more than breezy, and now they say it will last all night and tomorrow morning. Still, there has been heavy rain so that is one task less. Force 6 and higher.

                                Sunrise: 4.19 am
                                Sunset: 10.20 pm

Sunrise here will start to change again on Wednesday but sunset remains the same until Monday week, it's about a week and a half before it changes from standstill. It doesn't get totally dark here at this time, I can still see the garden after midnight and could work out there until around 11 pm. I don't think my neighbours would be happy if I got the lawnmower out at that time though.
