Is that a Irish word? Hubby says that and he's always lived in redditch Worcestershire.

 

I have no idea! I am English and speak both lingos. Been over here nearly 20 years now.

The midges in a damp climate are a breed apart. It was the same up in Orkney. Grown men would refuse to go outside on a bad day and the sheep would go mental. They are supposed to be crepuscular but no one has told them that.

It is getting brighter and looks as if the SUN will emerge... This will bring the plants on massively!

 

Sunny intervals and down to a frisky breeze. Time to tidy up the roses...many blooms spoiled.

 

Warm with a warm breeze. Staying indoors tidying computer photos. Out tomorrow and Friday anyway. Cottage cheese and pineapple for lunch today ... I don't like big meals in the heat.

 

Not worth mentioning as whatever it's like at the moment it will be different in 10 minutes time.

 

Sunshine and 70f and looking at a humid 90f high and we're told it's going to be even hotter tomorrow. Closed the house and put the air conditioning on. My way of saying Uncle!

I will assume that the saying is pretty much only used over here - Uncle is saying "I give in" or "I give up" - in other words it's a losing battle and I now know it

 

Had very heavy rain at 2pm and hubby was out in it walking Barley, I was close behind but it had slowed down by then.

 

No rain today at last but the dark clouds loomed until late afternoon. Sunshine for about an hour then back to the gloom. 14C/57F
