Bizarre weather at the mo. Totally clear sky here (Hereford), yet silent lightning flashes seemingly from the north and south-west. Apparently a silent electrical storm over Ross-on-Wye happening too - but they do have clouds....

We, finally, got some rain this morning. :blue thumb: At 6.33 a.m. we had some large blobs of rain :hapydancsmil: and by 6.35 they had stopped

The peculiar thing was that it brought the birds out in flocks. :rolleyespink: We have had blue tits, goldfinches and sparrows swarming around the bird feeders and the trees alongside. :) We stood watching them in fascination.

Yes we had a thunderstorm last night, don't think that we had a lot of rain.

Now it's hazy sunshine and a light breeze temp 31c
                    Maybe thunderstorms later

Just read in Portugal July was the hottest month recorded since 1931 with the average air temperature being 33.34c, +4.61c above normal..

The average amount of precipitation in July was 4.0mm, just 30% of normal levels. This was for up North as Algarve and Alentejo had none. Yesterday up North near the Spanish Border they had floods and hail.

We are now 21c and still overcast and breezy.

Partly cloudy skies after last night's storm, with a temperature, so far, of 71.6f and a pressure reading of 1006.1hpa. My day off, today, so I'm going to wander around the garden and see what damage was done during the night.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

@Victoria they said that we have had 5 nights in a row now with the temperature above 20c and also 5 days above 34c.

According to my records in rainy old England May was 1mm, June was 39mm and 29.5mm in July .

Might sound a lot but less than 3inches of rain over 3 months is pretty low for us as you know.
Not had any measurable in August yet.
