Rain now gone and partly sunny, wind upto 65mph, and not eased since the early hours.
Pots are over in the garden but at least the waterbutt is full!

Just come back from visiting my sister, very scary walking up our wooded lane in such strong winds.

I was at Mold all day today where from the Office windows the weather was wet, windy, blowing, and not a trace of blue in the skies. When I got home I had a walk around the garden and the weather was still rain driven by gusting winds although the temperature got up to 71f according to my Garden Weather Station. The recorded highest wind speeds in my sheltered garden was 19mph, while the total rainfall, so far, today is 17.4mm. Right now the temperature is 58.5f, it's raining every now and then, the winds are coming mainly from the West but the direction seems to be swinging all the time from East, South and the West, with a pressure reading of 979hpa, with no visible damage to the borders in the very damp:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee: garden.

Been dry since late morning, but the wind is just ridiculous for this time of the year, again, it appears to have strengthened in the last hour or so.

The gusty winds are still quartering from West to East at around 15mph, but it's not raining although the total rainfall has crept up to 19.8mm, with the pressure reading 985hpa.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Wales, Ireland and the Isle of Man seem to have taken the brunt of the weather today. I hope all is well for those living there.

It's rained continuously here today although it's been light. The wind speed around 30/35mph, just a strong breeze really. 11C/52F

Strong winds all night, with gusts up to 72kmph. Forecast to rise to 89kmph by 11am.

I woke up to find the runner bean frame lying across the squash (does it have suicidal tendencies?) and two tomato plants. We tried to right it, but to no avail. 5 plants had been ripped out, and we just couldn’t get it stable. I always site the frame so that it’s end-on to the prevailing winds. But the wind was very swirly, and the frame caught the wind face-on. The only thing we could do was to rip out the remaining line of beans, and lie the whole frame on the ground next to the raise bed.

feeling very sad - the beans had stopped flowering because of the heat, but as the weather cooled down in the last week, they were coming back into flower again.
