I got very little sleep last night. Not just the sound of the wind and rain, but the slapping and brushing sounds from the overgrown forsythia in downstairs front garden slapping against my bedroom wall.

Throughout the day there has been no let up. The sky was brighter at dawn than it has been all day.

I keep looking out at my conifer, it really is so tall. I must consider getting the council to perhaps lower it.

What really gets me going is. Despite all the weather warnings, the news reports say. Surfers had to be rescued from the rough seas. Sorry. I admire such adventurers but when it comes to situations like this. Why should rescue teams risk everything because of these crazy barstewards.

        6c dry with nippy wind

Road flooded as it does, but I got out there and found that a pipe under a farm track was blocked with a branch half way through and water backing up and over which flooded the road, so out with the drain rods and pocked away  I new I was going to get wet when it broke free so tried to do it in a different way but it didn't work so in the end I got wet when the water flowed through fast :pathd: with in an hour road not flooded :):):)

We have a stream flowing down our lane!!
Sunny at the moment and calm but the winds are due to return mid morning, not as bad as yesterday but gusting in the mid 40's mph. Light rain predicted for this afternoon . High of 9C.

Gosh there are some problems there ... please be careful and safe. I saw one BA plane made a record crossing across the Atlantic and another could not land both due to Ciara!

On the other hand we are going to 20c today, sunny and calm. Not nice for me though as I am off to the Dentist later to have two lower molars extracted ... one on each side :hate-shocked: so mashed spuds on the dinner menu for me tonight.

Hello @Upsydaisy my friend ,thank you,its not so bad really as the fence panels are slotted in between concrete posts, and for some reason one end keeps coming out of the slot, but compared to all those poor souls who have floods to contend with my fence is just a tiny inconvenience:smile:

ps.The wind has come back with a vengeance now

Thank you, I always do my bit, as to where it floods their's a blind bend so it may have other problems if some one flys around the bend and hits the water

Add a bit more batten to the side of the panel, but saying that, next time you may have to replace it because then it's broke

That nice of you, but if I ring it will take you 2-3 hours to get hear and I would have done the job by then :coffee:but thank you very much for the offer :dbgrtmb:
