The rain still didn't arrive yesterday evening either.

Sunny with blue skies and light cloud. High of 10C with an overnight low of -3.

No rain yesterday so we sat out for an hour and pottered but had light rain in the early hours. Now it is sunny with 15c going to 22c.

Just about escaped a frost last night.
Light ground frost at this time of the year I can accept, but the day time highs are a bit low.

Light dusting of snow overnight  well that what were forecast, Not 6-7+ inch of the stuff . Very wet snow stuck to everything even the telephone wires, its melting fast but its having another little snow shower so it will probably freeze solid tonight .

Its crazy watch the Burnley game ( Burnley north of me ) earlier today they hardly got anything could just see it on the tops of the hills , burnley only about 8mile away. no snow in blackburn either 10mile East. Went for a quick walk in the woods this morning, looked magical stuck to all the trees until it started falling off :runforhills:

Was a bit of surprise to me as well @Upsydaisy I were watching it snow thinking its going to stop soon , it didn't obviously . I had to go out with a brush gone midnight bashing it off the shrubs its totally flattened it were even pulling the Amelanchier tree down. Its done quite a bit of damage to the plants but its doesn't matter some are even already bouncing back .

I've seen them bend and come back up before after freezing but I thought they were done for this time

Goodness, some dramatic snow scenes! We had a bit of snow, some settled on the hilltops and down below on cars, grass verges etc but thankfully not on the roads or footpaths.
I woke up with a start in the early hours, not at all concerned about my dear cats being outside in the freezing cold, but a tray of little fuchsia plants I'd forgotten to bring in overnight.
Well, for one thing cats have fur coats and another being them waking me up to let them out... serves 'em right!
                                The plants were ok, thankfully!
