Sunshine and blue skies but 3c with a sharp breeze going to 12c.

Yesterday turned out grand with 12c but again no rain as forecast. Cold snap to continue till Tuesday.

It was one of the coldest nights I can remember ever having had whilst living in this house and Ive been here 20yrs.
My Olive tree leaves are covered in ice for the first time ever. I'll be heartbroken if they die and thank goodness I put a fleece cover on my new Brown Turkey Fig. Was expecting fruit next year. Maybe not anymore.

A very still and frosty morning.

Early morning view from the kitchen window. Have looked to see what the trees are like further down the garden Brrr!

Like the look of your garden a lot....around here people mainly have farmy style gardens with large veggie patches ..fences mostly see through wired and on our short journey to the supermarket I can only see 2 that I strain my neck to peer in.....if I have not driving of course.:star:..

Thanks :). That's a small part of it and we have thousands of plants and shrubs and almost 100 trees. That willow came from the W.I. in 1953 and we have it topped every five years. The silver birch (behind it, to the right) lost its twin tree in the hurricane of 1987.

Getting a bit much to look after nowadays :old:

we are now over time making things easier for us also. We see our older neighbours for example at the end of our plot less and less in their garden, they have a huge veggie garden, one of their sons is a regular stayover most weekend and does a lot of the back breaking jobs... Overall ours is mainly grass so the sit on mowers are essential. We have loads of useful tools and can be independant almost...We do not fell large trees like another huge pine has to go because it is on the hard drink!....:phew:

The same as yesterday but another degree or so warmer at 4C/39F. The snow has almost cleared from the garden but there's more to come over the next couple of days.

Well, we've had the usual horizon to horizon grey cloud but no snow or rain and a light Southerly breeze. The temperature is 40.5f but there is still snow and ice laying around with the pressure reading is 1004.3hpa.
