Sunny, breezy and 14 going to 18c but no rain in sight.

We encountered that problem in Spain ... and our holiday cottage was remote in the hills!

Ic above this morning, sunny then cloudy, then a few spots of rain, now brilliant sunshine
Typical spring weather, warm in the sun but cold in the shade.

It has been a lovely day with 19c but dark clouds and thunder to the North (think it rained in SB Messines 6 kms from us). We have been sitting outside and a few raindrops fell so we have come in ... Van and Munch did too as they were anxious for their dinner. :heehee: :cat-kittyandsmiley:

I don't know what's going on, but for over 5 weeks now, all the 'weather' is coming from the NNE. Cold, windy and very sunny, 19C max but only 1C at dawn. That's not at all normal, here. It's supposed to come from the Atlantic, warm and wet. Never had frosts after mid-March before! Does anyone happen to know if the Gulf Stream's switched itself off or something? Not complaining about the sun, but it's sooo dry. The farmers and wine-growers have been very badly hit.

Similar here too @noisette47 . We're so dry that we're having water the garden, can't remember when we last had a significant rainfall. Almost all our nights, down where we are, have been minus ones too but likewise we're been enjoying lovely sunny days.

I get 'memories' reminders of the photos taken on corresponding days last year.
On Tuesday ( 13th) I compared how our garden looked on the same date last year to how it looks now......I was amazed how behind everything is this year!!!

Must be all due to the weather obviously.

Got a few buds showing on my grape vines, but we are not getting the high daytime temperatures that you are down there, so I'm hoping mine will get away with it due to the fact that most of the buds haven't yet broken.

Blame Scandinavia @noisette47, that's where the weather's come from having moved down through Britain. I watch the jet stream and that's a mess at the moment, so the weather is going to be changeable across Britain and Europe for a while. We're currently in a dry and sunny spell here in the Highlands which is usual for April/May.

And as said above, another dry, sunny and calm day here with the temperature reaching 14C/57F.
