Currently sunny and 10c with a slight breeze going to 22c. a nice day ahead.

 

Looks like another cold week ahead, but this time with gales and rain.

Finally had some rain yesterday, it waited until we were mid way through our afternoon walk !!

This morning is sunny and bright but rain is due early afternoon when the gale force winds start . Inland they are predicted to hit 50 mph but being near the Solent and IOW we are preparing for much stronger ones. They are forecast to remain at least in the 40's (mph) until 2am tomorrow morning.

There goes all the blossom and undoubtedly there will be battered plants too. All we wanted was a bit of rain.

High of 12C with an overnight low of 7C.

 

Bright sunny start not a breath of wind.
The cherry trees lining one of the streets around here are just into full blossom, two or three weeks later than usual.
The gale force winds and heavy rain forecast is bound to ruin them as usual, last year was the first year in ages that they escaped.

Wind's getting up now. If intending to visit a NT property this afternoon, keep an eye on the forecast and their website as most have a policy of closing when wind speeds reach 45mph.

 

It's been raining since 11.30pm and it still is, with a moderate breeze from the south south west temp 8c.
We need the rain but we have to go out in it.

 

Sunny still but have been out securing everything as the winds are picking up now.


Winds will peak this evening but we are expecting them to be slightly stronger where we are.

 

Looking at the Radar, there doesn't seem to be much rain in the south at the moment.
It could change, but it looks like maybe a short sharp drop as the cold front moves through.
