For the first day of Summer it is rather dull out there (well 11.32pm last night), currently 16c going to 21c. It is supposed to be sun and cloud, no rain forecast. We didn't have any more yesterday after the cat shower. In fact it brightened up and we sat out for an hour.

Noticed your absence ... hope you heal well Sheal. :imphrt:

Hate to put the dampers on things but just read that July is going to be unseasonably wet and cold. Can't post a direct link from the BBC weather site for some strange reason.

Oh well that's summer done and dusted I suppose....roll on the excitement of Christmas!!:xmasyay:

Yes same here for the begining....then it looks a bit iffy onwards here in the South ,until the 19th July they predict one day reaching a high of 19C the rest is 16- 17C!! Even a lonesome sneaky 15C on the 13th!!

Hasten to add I'm not taking it seriously!

I'm hoping they are going to continue their good practice of getting it wrong!!:fingers crossed:

Put the stove on yesterday evening.

Noticed the garden polytunnel thermometer had a new minimum of 9.6 deg C this morning.

It's jumpers and jackets on for dog walks.

At out local NT property the leaf blowers were out for the first time since Autumn.

It is only 79.7f but extremely humid because Mother Nature started the first day of summer with a loud light show about 1 a.m. It was still sprinkling a bit this morning but the clouds are breaking up and allow the sun to ratchet up the humidity some more.

And then like lots of you "over there", we will get a cool spell but only down in the low seventies. Perfect for rearranging the pile of fire wood! I'll have to look up the words to the Lumberjack Song to sing whilst I shift the lot! :)
