It's going to be hotter tomorrow.
      :phew:
What's happened to the large smile and the fan? Also where is the large happy smiling sun?
I'll ask that here because it's to do with the weather.

We are 30c now but have come in to the a/c as it was feeling clammy. It was much cooler at our friends house looking at the sea.

There is a big fire in Monchique, the mountains behind us but to the West. It would have been many degrees hotter than us.

"According to Civil Protection, there are already 309 operational, supported by 91 vehicles. There are also eight air assets to operate – three heavy aircraft, one heavy helicopter, two light and two coordination helicopters. The planes have been refueling at sea, in front of Meia Praia (Lagos), since the dams in the mountains have little water.

SIC added that a honey treatment unit was completely consumed, with the South Information knowing that numerous cars and agricultural machinery have already been burned." Many wooden outbuidings have been burned.

People have been evacuated. I pity the poor wildlife.

I was seed sowing some perennials for next year...had to pack it in as it reach over 50C in the greenhouse. I eventually did the 6 different trays but had to keep going out to cool off.
In the garden it was nice and cool at 31C :heehee:

After our BBQ ( early evening) we came in and drew the curtains/ blinds and put the big ceiling fans on . Lovely

@Victoria I hope they can get the fires under control, looks very serious indeed. Are you safe? For the wildlife, forest fires are a great opportunity to grab new areas so they are in fact beneficial- up to a point.

When we lived in Italy the hill fires were tackled by a much less sophisticated measure, a kind of tarpaulin hammock hanging from a plane that was dipped into the sea and then carried over the blaze and shook until empty- and back to a refill from the sea.

@Victoria that is so sad. I hope they get it under control.

We have lots of fires happening in British Columbia. It happens every year but they are saying it is more often this year than last.

It is 69f and still cloudy. It is a nice little break from the heat. I was glad to turn off the air conditiining as it is so hard on the eyes.

Yesterday was too hot for the Shineys. It almost topped 90F/32C and we had the pleasant/unpleasant task of showing a couple around the garden as they were here to buy plants. I used an umbrella. :blue thumb:

Mrs Shiney and I then spent the early evening sitting indoors in the aircon. :phew:

At 3.30 this morning the temperature outside was 62F/17C. It's still holding at that but is forecast to be hotter than yesterday. :rolleyespink:
