That's exactly what happened. It was sunny until 3 p.m. and they arrived just after 3.05 and the heavens opened. The back lawn flooded for the first time in 50 years - as far as we can remember. It rained heavily for four hours and then reduced to a light rain for the rest of the evening. Dry and sunny now. 23C is forecast.

Had 20mm of rain yesterday mostly in about 10 minutes when a storm passed over. It sunny now and the ground is dry already, one advantage of being on chalky soil.

We got to 30c with a breeze. Now it is 25c and very windy from the NW at 29 km/h, gusting to 44 km/h. Was sitting outside and a gust blew something in my eyes so we came in. Eyes okay.

It's been a warm sunny day but there's a mackerel sky now, and that means rain. I don't mind, everywhere is so dry and dusty.

Good your eyes are all right @Victoria

It got hot and very humid yesterday but we have a bright but overcast sky this morning with rain forecast later. Quite warm, 68F/17C, but breezy.
