It was a good day yesterday but rained heavily during the night. Overcast but dry now.

Evert has arrived...winds aren't too bad at the moment 40mph...but are due to pick up a bit more throughout the morning. On a brighter note, we do have sunshine and a high of 20C.
Trying not to look out at the garden, although I busily set about adding additional staking to a lot of the taller and more vulnerable plants yesterday. :fingers crossed:

Slightly overcast here in Paraiso, with a barrage of noise from the cicadas. Woken by a loud repetitive squawking, which could have been the Hoopoe I saw in the garden yesterday. Now the cat is shouting -- noisy morning.

Storm Evert which we were predicted missed us, it's calm and has been calm all night. We've had a light shower or two but it's looking quite bright now.
I moved some pots to a 'safer' position but I needn't have bothered

Dull and showery here, trying to work up some enthusiasm for indoor chores.

Lots of showers coming along just now and the winds are gusting quite badly at times.
Just a normal July day really, cant think this was a so called "named storm", more dramatisation from the snowflake brigade.
Often remember years ago having to go out and reinforce the bean row in a howling gale, never liked it then, but I still dont like it now.

There is nothing new, it just gets reinvented by the next generation.

Winds are gradually receding now although they've extended the weather warning by a couple of hours, it's around 41mph currently. Not so sunny either as some dark ominous clouds are closing in .19C.

Weather warning extended again until 6pm now. We've had a short sharp shower but the sun is now beaming down. 20C.
Had a few casualties in the garden late morning , a couple of Lavartera are down and a potted Hosta and a few other pots have been rolling around the patios.:sad: IMG_20210730_133228_hdr.jpg IMG_20210730_133135_hdr.jpg IMG_20210730_133259_hdr.jpg IMG_20210730_133403_hdr.jpg

Looking at the radar its just shower following shower at the moment, and with the showers comes the gusty winds.

Looking at the jet stream forecast and its not until around the 9th Aug. before we can expect to see any summer weather, and that is a long time off, so things can change.

A cool day with earlier 60mph winds, pots all over the place, no point standing them up until it abates sometime this evening. There were none of the showers forecast, 18c.
