It's raining with a moderate breeze from the south west temp 12c

 

55f and cloudy and a steady breeze keeping the flag extended. Aand at night, we are now going down below 40f. The trees are finally getting the hint that autumn is here and are starting to drop their leaves after putting on their fall colours.

 

Yesterday my lad was out in the wagon delivering, he had one drop in Windermere and the other in Garstang. Other drivers had told him to not head into Windermere from the north but to head down the M6 and come in from the south due to floods.

So he took their advice only to find the M6 was closed at Tebay due to a HGV on fire.



He managed to get onto the A6 and then came into Windermere via Kendal. He was less than 1 mile from his drop where he came across a vehicle stranded in the flood water, he had to wait for over an hour before the vehicle was recovered, his picture was in the Daily Mail today. Normally it should of taken him just under 2 hours to get to Windermere this time of year, it took 7 hours yesterday.

 

Oh my, on both accounts !!! @gks they are both awfully scary situations to be in, I really hope nobody was injured.

Had rain during the night but despite our current forecast it's dry at the moment and mild here too.

 

After 2-3 inches of rain recently, dry with sunny intervals, max 14°C.
Tomorrow windy and showery.

 

The rain found us at 8.30pm yesterday and rained fairly steadily through the night. Currently it is grey, breezy and 18c going to 21c. Rain is forecast intermittently through the day/weekend. No complaints as we need it to fill the dams. Just started raining again.
