Bright and sunny still with quite strong winds, in the mid 40 mph, until late morning then things calm down. High of 9C with a low tonight of 3C.

When I went out at 5.30 a.m. the car said it was 4C but the wind made it feel colder. We have bright sunshine and dry windy weather.

Mostly cloudy after a pretty stormy night, sun trying to come out, but the strong gale force wind keeps piling in the clouds.
Again not even feeling like spring temperatures. 8c 46f.

Windy, sunny intervals, max 7°C with bits and pieces of rain and hail. The wind means it's not pleasant to be stood around outside.

This winter has been unusual for the Highlands @CanadianLori. In fact I'd describe it as having been in the doldrums. The six to seven weeks that we had snow lying it turned to ice and then more fell on top, although it wasn't deep. During that time there was no wind at all which would usually move it on and keep the temperatures up. They remained around freezing point during the day with a couple of exceptional overnight temperatures down to -17C/1F.

From November right through until February winters are usually wet (rain) and windy with gales at times and daytime temperatures somewhere between 3C/39F and 8C/46F. There's been no wind to speak of this year. We do see some snow but it's usually gone within days. The snow we had yesterday was unusual at this time, a Scandinavian blast apparently.

Now well into March, I would usually have given my lawns their first mowing around this time but the grass isn't growing yet. The snowdrops were around three weeks late in coming through and other plants are only just starting to show buds. March is also a wet and windy time but that applies to many parts of Britain. Nature here has some catching up to do, even the birds have delayed nesting.

The sun appeared from time to time but mostly grey with a few wintry showers and a light breeze. 6C/43F

I usually pick the first rhubarb in march, this year they've hardly grown.
