There was 10mm of good rain yesterday.

The sun is out but it's cold again at 11c, heading to 15c later with more rain.

          All changed !!

          Screenshot_20220531-102255.png

We're still braving it and having a cuppa in the garden. Trying to kid ourselves that it's a warm Spring morning that's full of promise..... the only promise I can see is that our forecast is wrong and the rain will be here before 5pm!!

I think we had May in April and now we're having April when we should be having May. It is disappointingly cold and there are some threatening clouds wandering about the sky, although the forecast is for a dry day (we'll see what happens !)

You know Upsy, the best way to forecast is looking at the sky! Our friend's rain didn't visit us and it is sunny and breezy but with cloud about.

That must have come as a shock @Upsydaisy :heehee: sorry for the giggle but I am imaging you running through the rain with your tray (I laugh at the daftest things) I hope you didn't get too wet and continued to enjoy your tea indoors

Yes you're right Vicky, but how can they get it so very wrong?? I was saying to R that I felt sorry for people who go by it...I bet parents took their brood out to the park or similar ( end of term school holidays here) this morning thinking that the rain was this afternoon!!

                      Definitely got damp Michael!

                      I like to share Jenny.;)

We are back outside and debating as to whether or not eat our dinner out here, we have bits of blue peeping through along with some sun.

Very dark clouds with a bit of sun and i agree it's May in April and April in May.
                        Now it's raining again.

@Upsydaisy I went on a tour of our local Weather Network facility. Huge place. And I had to go through a lot of security to get into the parking lot and then again at the building entrance. The people who rely on these guessers can apparently get quite violent and the guessers have actually had death threats. I agree, you'd think they would get it right more often given the amount of money and technical equipment they have!

It is 60f 19c and going up to 93f 31c. And very sunny. We're slated for thunderstorms and rain starting some time in the night and continuing tomorrow. I love a good thunderstorm

@CanadianLori I was thinking the exact same thing as you earlier this morning. With the latest & greatest in supercomputer technology & so much info from satellites, etc. you'd think they would get forecasting the weather for today - at least - reasonably correct!

Anyway it seems they DID (gasp!) get the weather right for here at lest today - only their timing was a wee bit out. We have had at least 3 rain showers today, so far. The first was around 11am & it really was heavy! Lasted all of about 15 mins as well! Then we had another around 12 noon, much shorter & a lot less rain, ditto for one about 1.30pm. As I opened this thread I was sure I heard a far off rumble of thunder but it seems I may have heard a lorry rather than thunder!

It's turning out to be a very COOL day as well as wet. We need the rain but we also need some warmth, the toms are behind because of the cool spring we have had this year. Thank goodness that in 3 weeks time the summer will be here with us - at least we hope it will be!

CORRECTION I did hear right! There is a little thunder around at this moment after all!:yes:

I'm probably one of the first to moan when they get the forecast wrong, but to be honest it's been right as far as I can tell.
It's that really rubbish weather that is called showers, no one can really predict when and where they will spring up even if you were to use all the technology in the world.
I find it more annoying when the get big things wrong, like forecasting a good weekend and then it's rubbish.

As you can see from my earlier post we were predicted a slim chance of rain around 5pm.....we've had thunder ( not even mentioned) and now torrential rain.

And I was in the middle of planting out my miniature snapdragons too :wallbanging:
