Hi,

10 o'clock last night I had to close the bedroom window in case the wind removed it; there was an icy blast coming in and if this is "Flaming June" then i wish someone would light the flame.

I've just returned from the supermarket and it's trying to rain; I can't understand why it's only trying because it's not usually so bashful; it pours down.

The wind has dropped after months of keeping us company but no doubt if I venture up the mountain it will see me. 11C dark miserable and dismal.

Just noticed that the promised heat wave is predicted to last a whole day.
Friday.

 

Hazy sun with a light breeze, 23cc going to 33c . It is very uncomfortable this morning and it says 62% humidity They are spraying the orchards and it smells horrible. Not a good start to the day.

Edit. Had 82% humidity because the forecast says that but our thingy says 62%. Still way high for us.

 

I shouldn't complain. In Seville Spain they are having the hottest pre-summer heatwave for 20 years with temps already over 40c. We are about two hours from the border and 3 from Seville. We are Central Algarve, midway N-S-E-W in the Province so go a bit higher than the coast as we don't get the sea breeze.

Edit. I changed country to Province because I am only referring to Algarve.

 

Utterly rubbish for the whole month so far, was gusting 40mph in the allotment too. Forecast is an improvement...Still not good. I'm sure we'll have a great july

 

Yes the Spanish heatwave was reported on our weather forecast last night Vicky....how horrendous !!

Mid June in Yorkshire at 1:15pm; 14C the rain is holding off and after a brief strong breeze it's now pretty calm just waiting for me to venture out; I'm about to don my heavy site coat and cap and head up the mountain onto the lane to spray all the weeds.

I enjoyed an hours violin practice earlier this morning but when I left the studio I was perished; the central heating is now on but then it's seldom off other than during the night.
