Sorry, I thought it was funny because I do feel like I'm frying up when I get in the sun! It's from one of those "apocalypse now/zombie" type movies right?

It is a very comfortable 75f. Oh, wait, that's here in the air conditioning. Outside it is 94f with lots of sun and humidity.

We haven't done a great deal today, sitting in the garden under shade mostly. We have busy A roads nearby, one at the end of our garden. It's very eerie as there has been very little traffic noise. The occasional siren that's all.

Cooling down here at 34c but no breeze.

The butterflies seem confused too, they keep landing on us. There has been practically no bird song, no dawn chorus this morning either.

The London Wellington fire was caused - said one onlooker - by compost overheating.

Now, here is something interesting... WhatsApp Image 2022-07-19 at 5.22.11 PM.jpeg

That is the dash on my car this afternoon - see the 42ºC in the bottom right corner.

Here, is a photo that I sent to my mum on 11th July:

                  11th July.jpeg

Other than the mileage being 224 miles less (and the fuel gauge looking depressing)... note the temperature - 42º

To prove that it was indeed 11th July, here is a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation with my mum with the date on it: 11th convo.png

Both were taken at roughly the same time of day (give or take 30 mins) and in exactly the same location (my driveway is so small, it literally just fits the car) - the difference between the two??
The media and the press were not bending us all out of shape and screaming Armageddon on the 11th/

I'm surprised there have been no grass fires on these mountains, there's usually a few every spring and this is hotter.

There has been some hot days recently and there was no fuss because it covered a smaller part of the country.
But today has been the hottest day I've ever come across here.

The sun left us 30 minutes ago and the sky rapidly covered with cloud.
A ferocious southerly wind got up and it was a quick " batten down the hatches " exercise .The temperature has dropped considerably.
                          Weird,

Just had a bit of a thunder plump, but it didn't really last long enough to make an impression. Nice wee bit of water for the garden still.
