Hi,

14C as I type and this is more like our usual mid summer temperature; we've had a rare spell of dry extremely hot weather but it's just putting a splash of rain down and quite dark although more calm than normal; as long as it doesn't bucket down looks like a good day for some heavy work.

Sun is just breaking through the cloud cover. Very still...no breeze.
I am missing the sounds of the squabbeling sparrows and the blackbirds too

Jenny same here!! We both commented on the lack of birds in our area yesterday, we saw only a few all day but none flying above and it was total silence...very weird indeed.

 

Once harvesting starts birds seem to stay away from my garden, I've noticed this every year.
Sky has cleared now but they are saying it will be cloudy all day.

Sunny, 20c with a light breeze heading for 29c+ with a breeze, hopefully.

Regarding the birds, living in a "hot" country, we notice the birds disappear in the hot afternoons.

 

With this dry weather the blackbirds eat my red, white and pink currants, i always grow some for them.

Today it's cloudy and light winds from the north north west temp 18c.

Thanks for the video @wiseowl it 's just made me realize how old I am; this song is just a year older than me and of a time when you could make out the words being sung. Happy times.

Warm but very cloudy with just the odd drop of rain so I'm cracking on making the garden steps having just knocked off for a mug of tea; I'll resume hostilities in a few minutes; I'd forgotten how heavy this sort of work is especially on such a steep garden. It keeps me fit so no complaints.

Had a bit of light rain but now it has stopped.
Still cloudy with light winds from the north temp 20c

 

It is quite overcast, 28c but feeling warmer with a light breeze.

 

After a bright and partly sunny morning it's now clouded right over.
26c.
There was a millimetre of rain in my gauge this morning but it dried up pretty fast as the ground wasn't even damp.
