      It's to do with the weather, that's why Colin has mentioned the steps.:)

        I used the Hose Pipe tonight to water the Runner Beans and I will probably fill the water Butts with the Hose Pipe.
        I do save the washing water for the flowers, so I'm not all bad:old:

          Sunny and breezy all day but the clouds are gathering now with perhaps some rain overnight - hopefully. 21C/70F

            Must admit, through other hosepipe bans I've always used the hose to fill water butts.
            I know of unfixed leaks around here that have run for weeks, so I dont feel guilty.

            I wouldn't blatantly go out there spraying the garden, I rarely do that anyway.

              Golf courses are a business just like retail or manufacturing.

                Yes but in my opinion not one of high priority... plenty of more important places to redirect the scant water supply to...like the agricultural sector for starters.

                        I don't use a hosepipe at all, i use 2 4pt containers to water the plants but only the bedding plants and pots, everything else is fine.

                              You're very lucky then. we never have to normally either but our area is severely dry.:sad:I've grown a lot of new perennials ,in the hope of eventually easing back of bedding plants as they require more watering normally anyway. But being young plants they are all suffering badly too.

                              As I mentioned the other day even the horses have been temporarily removed from all the surrounding fields....everything looks really sad.

                                Hi,

                                Many thanks Victoria; normally I'd fully agree but at 74 I now find this kind of work rather hard and by late afternoon I've had enough; this is heavy work on our steeply sloping site. :dbgrtmb:

                                Thanks @Logan yes the weather here in Yorkshire plays a big part in my life often preventing me from working outoors and as expected the forecasters got it wrong again;

                                upload_2022-7-30_8-6-37.png

                                I wanted it fine as forecasted for a couple of hours today in order to complete the steps but I can dream on. Our dire climate really torments me; as I age I think I'm slowing down. :sad:

                                Beautiful pictures @wiseowl thanks for sharing.:smile:

                                Kind regards, Colin.
