It's 32c and some cumulus clouds are forming to the south we could brew up some showers of our own later this afternoon.

        Hi,

How strange @pete; is your car air con serviced at all; our 6 year old Skoda Yeti has brilliant air con; it's seldom used but within seconds of switching it on it belts out icy cold air and is generally run on only the second to lowest setting; does your air con need regassing?

How Much Does an Air Con Regas Cost?

        Windscreen cover_0001.JPG

This is our Skoda Yeti being looked after; for years I've used an old double bed sheet folded in half as seen; two corners are very simply tied using cotton tape tying the corners very tightly but leaving plenty of length on the loose ends these then are used to tie to the front door handles; the bottom of the sheet as seen is tucked under the wipers. This sheet was red but I'd rather the sun bleach this than the expensive full leather interior. The car on our driveway catches all the afternoon sun directly onto the windscreen.

It makes a tremendous difference to the heat inside the car reducing it and with the air con working so well even with the car in blazing sun on its windscreen it's quickly cooled to drive away; I wrap the cotton tape around the door handle adding a bow so a tug on a loose end frees the sheet corner. About a minute to attach the sheet. Our car is main dealer serviced and air con gets checked.

Amazingly I've now caught up with heavy jobs and want to spend time in the studio practicing violin playing but GRRRRRR I'm driven out by this rare excessive heat. 27C at the moment but feels very hot.

        Kind regards, Colin.

My Volvo started to blow ice cold almost from the get-go. And as I said, it made no discernable difference to my mpg, on or off.

The promised thunderstorms materialised last night, with about 3mm of rain. We're forecast showers, some heavy, over the next three or four days. Thank goodness!

I had the a/c regassed a couple of years ago but it was still useless.
I assume it's because it was not getting used the seals were leaking.

I really don't find a need for it for at least 10 months of the year.
              Some years 12 months.

Heated up this afternoon and is now 31c and humid with some cloud. Thunder showers forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday but that could change before then.

It's clouded right over now, very little wind and 30c.

The thunderstorms are close. I just took the bins out and there was almost non-stop thunder, in the distance. Peals of about 10 to 15 seconds and no sooner had one lot stopped than another started.
The temperature never got above 20°C today.

Very warm 30C ,the clouds that came across turned it into an oven this afternoon....very unheard for me but I eventually had to go indoors to cool off. Still a tad muggy but the clouds have broken up now and we're back to full blast sunshine.:phew:

It clouded over here for a while and temp dropped to 26c. It feels cooler outside than in.
