    :fingers crossed: Today is the day...well the only day at the moment, that we have any rain on our forecast for the next 2 weeks.

      Our neighbours might get some yummy green grass to eat soon too.

      And we might get a tinge of green in our lawns too that aren't just weeds!!

              It was an uncomfortable night as there was no breeze. Currently 20c heading to hot again but the breeze is back for now. Rain is only in our dreams as the fires continue to rage up North and we stay on Red Fire Alert.

                Hi,

                Dark and gloomy; drizzel on the car first thing and car displaying 14.5C back to normal.

                For many years I've complained about the BBC weather forecasters constantly getting our forecast totally wrong; here's an example from post 4736 I added;

                upload_2022-8-22_8-13-39.png
                Totally wrong forecast when in fact I worked outside on Mon & Tues without a drop of rain.

                I've been giving this a bit of thought and perhaps I'm being unfair to the BBC weather forecasters; Huddersfield spans a very large area; at the opposite side of town to us and high up on the border at the top of the world it could be snowing but a perfect sunny day for us.

                Years ago whilst looking out of our front window across the valley to Victoria Tower I watched what looked like fog approaching; it was actually torrential rain and amazingly whilst still bucketting down to came to a stop as if it hit a glass wall just across the street only a few yards away; our side of the street was perfectly dry in brilliant sunshine but I was watching torrential rain that I could have touched had I crossed the street. I think I've only seen such a thing in my lifetime about three times.

                Taking this into consideration I'll stop moaning about the weather forecast and I no longer bother viewing it because for years it's just tormented me.

                In future I'll concentrate on something positive and leave the weather well alone;

                Violin; raw novice.

                I enjoy posting on this friendly forum so I can be found at the link above in future; I realize violins aren't of interest to everyone and this is a gardening forum but I don't mind sharing my voyage of dicovery into the music world and hope to encourage others to adopt a new hobby whilst unable to be in the garden.

                Have a great day everyone. :dbgrtmb:

                Kind regards, Colin.

                  Sunny intervals, 19c and calm. The long period of forecast rain this afternoon has dwindled to 2 hours of light rain 59% chance.

                                The forecast 2 hours of light rain is now 1 hour of drizzle at 6pm.
