WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE - 2022

We woke to rain but the temperature is still at 1C. The sun has broken through and there is blue sky between the clouds.

 

Thick freezing fog still. At 6am we had - 4C
The photo shows what we could see from the balcony at 8.30am this morning!

 

It's awfully pretty, sun is shining and the snowing has finally started.

 

It's still minus 2 here with the sun struggling to break through.

I see Warmth by next Saturday . Says zero today but I think its a tad warmer well it is in the sunshine . Hopefully the weather the week after isn't freezing I've got a load of bulbs to plant , some turned up yesterday the unplanned ones where I got way to carried away with bidding on ebay - 450 daffs - 150 muscari - 25 hyacinths and just 5 alliums , another 300 bulbs give or take upstairs and another 175 coming on another order, Christmas day looks like bulb planting day .

 

1c snow showers but no staying and damp

 

Another overnight low of -5c, heavy snow showers this morning, gradually thawing but still white out there. A dull cloudy day.

The freezing fog of this morning has persisted all day long! Now that it's getting dark the fog seems to have thickened & it's difficult to see just across the road! Temps have barely got into positive numbers with just a solitary 1C for a couple of hours in the middle hours of the day. Even now we are back down to -2C! Probably another -4C again for tonight.

Tomorrow there is no yellow fog warning like there was for today but it's expected to continue to be very low temp. but with more clouds rather than fog.

 

The temperature was above freezing this afternoon, but not enough to thaw things out.
We haven't had snow. There isn't even any on the mountains.

 

I've just had a look at a couple of weather apps & it seems we have a fairly high, 80%, possibility of snow showers here between 1am & 4am! Not something we are looking forward to! Although the first snow can be exhilarating it is also very dangerous for some of us. I was frightened of falling over just by walking through some places where the frost had accumulated so as to appear almost like a very thin covering of snow!

About 1.30pm I took a 2nd photo of the freezing fog from the balcony but it looks very similar to that which I took at about 8.30am.

Perhaps tomorrow I'll be posting a picture of snow in place of fog!
