The weather problems are better described as climate change rather than global warming. So we are getting much more of the extremes. The overall effect is an average higher temperature per year with consequent more disruptive weather. Worse hot spells, more floods, more droughts and dips into more arctic weather.

:nonofinger::nonofinger::nonofinger: We are getting our long lost rain from our very dry Winter and not much so far this season. We are way under normal and dams only have enough left for a year down here (better in Central and up North).

Had a short thunderstorm with burst of rain last evening and some light rain in the night and this morning. Had 20mm last 24 hours, only 5mm previous ... not a lot for "rain season".

Currently light grey with sun breaking through, calm, damp, 12c going to 17c with perhaps some showers.

Yeah, so they tell us. ;)
Strange how its name changed from Global warming to Climate change when we had a bad cold spell some years ago, I'm waiting for the headline to appear, "we will have to expect more cold weather like this in the future due to climate change ".

Strange thing is this wouldn't have been unusual years ago any way.

Minus 4 here and sun coming up.

Sun's arrived and still no wind. There are still patches of snow staying on the tops of tree branches,
It is melting where the sun shines,

Last night was the coldest so far, -7c. In my unheated greenhouse it was -5c, the chillies in there will be chilly.

Frost on top of frost and the lawn is heaving up in places.

Looks like the sun will out soon, it's just hitting the roof and sparking the solar panels into life.

Nothing moving here, just a slight thaw where the sun is shining. 20221215_142211.jpg

Picture looks dark but I think that is due to the camera getting too much light reflecting off the snow.

Not much change today with max temps hardly scraping above 0C! Now back to negative numbers - again! The good thing about today however was the glorious sunshine, the transparent skies with not even a wisp of thin high clouds in the sky! :dbgrtmb::yahoo:

Tonight once again temps will fall as low as -4C. Last night was perhaps the coldest of this autumn (???) so far. What will the weather be like when winter starts in a week's time?
