WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE - 2022

Raining, 56 degrees F now. suppose to drop to 27 degrees by noon and then even more later. So streets freezing up. and hope no real injuries to my shrubs. the worse would be the Almond tree/shrub again. 10 years ago it iced up bad and a large ornamental portion cracked, took this long to reorganize and prune into a reasonable shape. Looked great last two springs.

 

No rain today but it's been damp, grey and breezy. 3C/37F

 

The rain didn't stop here until a little before 3pm, just in time for the sun to slip below the clouds as it set in front of our flat.

From the vantage point of our flat we can see the sun set every time the sky isn't covered by clouds! It's fascinating watching the sun go backwards & forwards across the sky from one end to the other! I have marked out the equinoxes & the solstices over the years & know exactly where they occur! We can't see the horizon due to the row of houses in front. But the sun sets behind them from our point of view & it has finished setting about 10 minutes after we lose sight of it.

We have rather more difficulty seeing the sun actually come up, again, due to rows of houses, but as our bedroom window faces more or less SE we do see the sun coming up behind them. It's more difficult in the high summer when the sun is most north of us as then I have to crane my neck out of the window to see it rise. But right now it rise almost in front of our bedroom window. Not that we actually see it as by the time it decides to get up we have almost finished our breakfast!
