@Upsydaisy sorry to hear about the greenhouse and roof.
Eunice left me a jigsaw for the weekend.
    P1050279.JPG
Only two largish branches down so far, one did the above fortunately only the upper glass pane broke the lower one is intact so hopefully still weather proof. Will find out over the weekend.
Branches cleared and sawn up, just the trimmings to shred now.
Only got to contact glass people now for quotes.

Wind here reached 91mph and we lost one fence panel and four are damaged. A very noisy day. The Isle of Wight recorded 122mph at the Needles!!!

So sorry everyone has had wind damage, we haven't had anything like that here.
Hubby took barley round the corner for a wee at 7pm and it was frozen rain coming down.

I'm sorry to hear of the damage done but glad to hear everyone is safe. :)

No wind here at all but it's snowed for most of the day. 1C/34F

                Thanks Michael
That's what our eldest said too, but unfortunately his words fell on deaf ears.
All I can do is be out there with him and keep everything crossed :fingers crossed: , have to be out there for about 7:30 am to beat the rain.

He's stubborn and hates leaving jobs not done! All I can do is shadow his every move and keep a beady eye on him. He causes me more nightmares than all our 3 sons ever did, and they certainly did/do plenty of things!!!
                    Dreading it!!!

                    Keep safe yourself.

I am sorry that you down in England and Wales have experienced dreadful gales too. We in Scotland had terrible gales 2 weeks ago tomorrow, the worst I can remember since back in about 2002.
My garden took a terrible hammering and I have lost 8 ft approx off the top my what was a beautiful Cedar Atlantica Glauca. It looks absolutely terrible so I will need to decide whether to have her tidied up or fell her completely.
This is what she looked like before the gale, very sadly she does not look like this now. Not had the heart to take a photo of her post the gales.
                      upload_2022-2-18_23-52-17.jpeg .
I have not made up my mind yet whether to just get her tidied up or have her felled completely, currently I have enough wood on the ground without any more.
Perhaps worse is we have also lost an ancient Beech tree which was aged at about 250 years old 10 odd years ago. She measured 14 ft round her trunk!
She completely blocked the road so between myself, husband and helpful neighbour we cleared the road after 11 hours of working non stop.
                      BC1E2305-E963-4212-8506-50682D8C6DAF.jpeg 2CDF84E2-C987-478C-9FAE-C31A511EFB4A.jpeg
The photos are after we had cleared the road. Yes we will have enough wood for our 2 wood burning stoves for about 5 years, I would rather still have my lovely old tree.
However, no deaths so in comparison to those who have been killed during the severe storms up here and down South, not the end of the world, just sad.
