It's now turned horrible, cold, wet and gusty. I am staying indoors for the rest of the day.

A bit nippy heavy snow this morning probably the largest snowflakes I've ever seen some were over 5cm wide looked like little UFO , abut 3-4inch of snow settled but melting now.

More weather warning for tomorrow and Monday , think they has been a weather warning every day this week. I think they go a bit OTT with them it is winter after all .

Fortunately we didn't have too much damage.

Yesterday I helped the neighbour cut back the two trees that had dropped across the road (they just missed the fence between us) and today I had a quick walk round the garden to assess how much work is needed to be done. It was much too dangerous to go out there yesterday.

There was nothing too serious :fingers crossed:. I reckon about four hours of clearing of branches and twigs and loading them on the bonfire. They were mainly from willow, birch and poplars.

We have lost a 9ft Freemontedendron californicum
                  [IMG]

The fruit trees were all pruned last month so they weren't under any danger from the wind :blue thumb:. The 45 year old wooden greenhouse was strengthened last summer as it was getting a bit rickety :phew:.

Minor damage apart from that. The heavy duty canvas cover over one of our 6ft wooden tables, under cover in the pergola, was shredded but the vases and other things on it landed on the pile of canvas and are undamaged. The identical table next to it has everything still on it and the canvas in one piece. I haven't got around to inspecting the roof but it should be OK. The roof tiles are interlocking and weigh about 5kg each. I did check the summerhouse slate roof and that seems OK.

Yes I know Michael, your whole area is very bad and the winds last a lot longer too :yikes:

                            Keep safe.xx

I was just really meaning that after our big clean and fix up I am really hoping it's not correct. I only became aware of this new batch of winds this evening, if I had known earlier I might not have bothered with some of the clean up.
