It's a Winter Wonderland out there! Started about 9pm yesterday, stopped sometime during the night. Looks to be about 3 ins deep. No beach walk for us today ...."snow dig"

We had enough snow to colour everything white but rain is clearing it to a slush now. The sky is heavy but according to the forecasts it is raining and mild today - possibly 10/12 degrees!? Back to cold all week though.

        Great original snow person @JWK

As expected, no snow here. Pouring with rain at the moment. Don't feel motivated to do anything today.

We came back to Norfolk yesterday, having spent December in France. Our cottage was very cold as the boiler had turned itself off. It was set for 12C as that's what the Insurance likes. Boiler refused to work. It has suddenly decided to come on this morning, thankfully.

We had a light snowfall in the night, lawn is white. South of Norwich.

Close. My family guessed a seal. It's supposed to be someone doing pressups. I'm taking part in the 1 million pressups for Parkinsons challenge this January, it looks like how I feel.

No precipitation of any sort, but everywhere is white with frost, minus 4 it seems and we are due to go to Perth, not sure if we will go though.

Here we've had over 2" of rain since 1800 hrs yesterday, the ground is sodden again and there is standing water in places, breezy getting windy later. Currently 13°C, 8°C warmer than yesterday.

Where's the predicted snow ? ... not that I care, and we rarely get it here anyway - rain is better for me
Warm sunshine would be greatly appreciated, but if we can't have that, mild rain will do, it's what we're most used to !

In 1982 I was running my mail order smoked salmon business in Edinburgh. The weather was brutal. I needed to get about 8 smoked salmon in polystyrene boxes to the main PO which was still operating be it that deliveries were slower.
I tried booking a taxi to take me to the PO but they wouldn’t take the fare as I lived on quite a steep hill. You try stopping a car on cobbles thick with snow and ice…no chance:).
Nothing for it, I had to walk carrying the pile of large boxes. Going to the PO wasn’t too bad as up hill the whole way although had trouble seeing where I was going carrying the boxes. Got there and despatched the boxes. Going back down the hill…… well having fallen over about 4 times I gave up and slid down on my posterior! I was likewise joined by a very smartly dressed gentleman who was wearing leather soled shoes which were as much use as a chocolate teapot on the sheet ice.
We “ sledged” down the hill ended up in my local pub to celebrate making it down the hill in one piece. Both of us were hysterical with laughter although our coats were looking somewhat the worse for wear!

Had better make the most of it. We have snow and a neighbour's kids were out sledging - sounded as though they were scraping the tarmac off the road.

But temps are rising to 10c later. So a heatwave. Heavy rain too.

Next week it's going down to -5c.

This is what makes our weather. It could be anything.
