Thanks for pointing that out @strongylodon.

I see you are coming up to 19yrs in a month or so.

It seems to have gone by very fast when I look back, I had just got my first computer and didn't know anything about it all then.

I’m so glad for you and envy you @Bluejayway :) :dbgrtmb:

I wouldn’t feel save using it for reasons @Escarpment described.
But it must be lovely in these cold days.
I will soon put the kettle on for my hot-water bottles.

It hasn't put me off - I wouldn't be without mine. But I do check the cables regularly and don't let them get all twisted up.

The moon has a 'halo'. My mother always said that's a sign of rain.
I don't know if we'll get rain but it will probably warm up a bit ... and it hasn't been too bad here today anyway.
Rain, if we have it, is milder, and that's better than living inside a freezer !

Yes you can. We have a dual control and T'other Half's side stopped and he's getting a replacement control this coming week ... 25 Euros as opposed to 119 euros.

@Escarpment I like an electric heating pad for whenever I get a sore back. Works wonders and I don't have to take any ibuprofen!

It is now up to 22f -5c so much warmer :)

:ideaIPB: hmmm, you know a heat mat for propagation would be a bit stiff but also provide a bit of heat. I have quite a few that I don't use anymore because I had replaced them with ones that are 30"x48" so as to reduce the number of plugs. I've got enough to form heated seats and backs on my chairs! okay, just joking

And I am 19 years in June. :thud: I think that's the month I got my first computer. T'other Half set me up with RHS and I asked him what I was going to say there! :rolleyespink:

It has gone dark now and 18.5c.

My mum always says to check that the wires in the electric blanket have not crossed over each other. She once took up an offer by the local fire station to have hers checked. So off mum and dad went to the fire station and spread the blanket out for them to inspect. The fireman said "sorry madam but there's something wrong - I can't see any wires". Mum had taken a normal blanket in! Dad was so embarrassed.

The cables on ours are very thick and not twistable.

Permafrost here. -5c again tonight and it did not go above 0c today. Same tomorrow. There is a green smell in the GH. I think some plants may be suffering.

It depends on the particular blanket. For the one I've got, where I examined the cable recently and found a hole formed in the insulation, there are no spares.
