Another heavy frost last night, with the temperature dropping to -7C/19F. Another sunny, calm but cold day at -5/23F.

Temperatures are set to rise from tomorrow night and hopefully the snow that has laid for the best part of three weeks will disappear.

      Good morning all.
We had higher pollution yesterday than it was on Friday, and the fog came in the afternoon and stayed.

While making a coffee, I had a look out of the kitchen window. No frost. Yes, this is more to my liking.
I can take off the fleece from the tree fern today.

It says 1c currently, up to 5 or 6c over the day with sunny spells?
      Humidity 74%
      Pressure 1040 mb
      Sunrise 08:09
      Sunset 16:22

Today is the beginning of a daily change in sunrise time in the morning :)
A minute a day will make a difference.

The last few days (and nights) have been exceptionally clear and it is continuing although the forecast says it is foggy.

        Nippy!

Minus 5c here also more white frost than the last few days so guessing the humidity is higher.

                  Hi,

A sprinkling of icing sugar during last night otherwise business as normal with lasting frozen snow & ice but WOW 4C forecast today and it's not minus 4C.

                  Snow 12 Jan 2024_027.JPG
It's still treacherous; this is the only level section of road; 100 yards to the left it drops steeply down the valley to the right a footpath up or down the valley. Roll on our two days of summer if we have such a long summer this year.

                  Kind regards, Col.

Take it easy if you go out @Retired

Still frozen and frosty here, but temps are higher as the o'night low was only zero degrees, which is what it is just now at approx. 8.15 am. Cloud coming in, with some pink bits, but it's meant to be quite bright for the daylight hours, before the rain/wind starts again later tonight. The predicted high during the day is around 4 or 5 degrees, but o'night to be higher than the normal daytime levels again. Weird weather.

Yesterday was quite chilly all day, with a short spell of snow in the early afternoon. The high was zero degrees, but it took a while to get to that, and basically stayed at that level until this morning.

Currently 7°C, 9°C later. Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze from the south east.

Sun breaking up scattered cloud with a light breeze, 14c going to high teens. Looks like our night temperatures will drop to low/mid single figures this coming week but day temps will remain mid teens.

A complete change in the weather here.

Yesterday it was thick fog all day and -4c.

Overnight the temps gradually rose and now it's 0c. It may even go to to +4c.

The water butt is frozen solid and the tap is stuck. The frost has gone off the GH and I have removed the fleece inside. The fuchsia thalia had shrivelled leaves, but everything else looks ok. I will now return all the plants from the dining room to the GH.

                              The cold spell is over!
