Milder this morning, with some sun (broken cloud) and breeze. The ground is still wet after yesterday's rain (12mm), but I might go out and do some cutting back and tidying up later.

5 degrees and raining here, no wind but cloudy, no sign of the sun or the forecast snow either.

      edit
some snow gates closed and quite a lot of snow on the big hills inland from here.

It is still mild here at 23f -5c. The guessers are still saying we'll get some more sun until later in the day. That makes me happy.

I'm 1,500 miles from any oceans yet they are putting out a wind warning but only a wind warning, nothing like that gales that most of you get over there. :phew:

Its been dry all day with sunny spells and well broken clouds.
Wind has been, and still is, very rough but nothing unusual in terms of strength.

Miserable drive home, then had to do battle with sorting out the recycling into various bags and boxes, which were all wet and cold, in the wind and rain. They should be paying me!

I installed a small pond in May, and had some concern as to how I would top it up if the water levels fell (being in the least accessible part of the garden, down a long steep slope from the house). That's one thing I'm not worrying about any more ...
I think if I buy some bog plants and put them around the pond, that will ensure it stops raining immediately and we have a long dry spring and summer.

The winds yesterday weren't as bad as forecast but the rain was worse. Our drains are gurgling as we aren't on mains drainage and the ground is saturated so water/liquids can't go anywhere. Forecast is mainly dry for the rest of the week so they should sort themselves out soon.

Looks like it's been raining overnight, and yesterday evening the wind really picked up, still fairly rough now.
