Whats Your Weather Like 2025

We're in the Amber warning for snow/ice/freezing rain, i hope they get it wrong and we get 6 foot of snow
it's 3c and raining

seeing some pictures of empty shelfs in super markets, these weather warning are good for sales

Just looked out and it's sleeting but not setling

 

A frost overnight which has set the already lying snow into ice. It's been a lovely sunny day but with the temperature reaching just 2C/36F there's been no chance of a thaw.

I wish the atmosphere here would change. It's messing with the internet and keeps logging me out of GC.

 

I think it's better to over dramatise than have people taken by surprise. There's lots of news articles at the moment about the New Year floods and people complaining they didn't get enough warning.

No matter how much warning is given, you can guarantee people will still go out driving and get stranded.

 

It’s been snowing lightly for a couple of hours - just enough to cover the cars and paths. I’m looking at a few different forecasts - some say heavy snow until midnight then rain, others sleet for another hour then rain…

 

Looking out my window here up the Valley @AuntyRach its still snowing and sticking on our front path it’s about 2 inches deep and looks pretty. Day in the house tomorrow planned just looking at a good deal on Hayloft for bare-root Dahlias shall I or shan’t I ? Lost a few last year .

 

I think its turning into the boy who cried wolf, we get so many warnings now that no body takes much notice anymore.

 

Light snow and a gentle breeze from the east south east temp 1c feels like -2c. Supposed to turn to sleet at 1am.

 

Its raining here.

 

Still snowing here, started just after 6pm. 0.8c Strong north/easterly wind which we don't get that often. Beginning to settle but forecast to change to rain by 10pm. Might go to bed early!

 

Contrary to the reports of heavy snow falling in Wales and other western places, we are experiencing heavy rain here.

 

Here in Gloucester we had an amber snow warning. Just looked out the window and it's raining. As @pete said above, there is a very real danger that dire warnings which fail to match reality will end up with people ignoring real ones. I put at least part of the blame on the totally risk averse society which has developed over the past decade or so.
I was watching a programme earlier about the very cold winter of 1982. We still tried to get on with our lives. We were living in a flat at the time, and I couldn't get my car out of the car park because there was a slope up to the road. I didn't just say "That's it, I have to stay home", I walked about a mile and a half to work - at night.

 

Its actually turned to snow here now.
