The pictures of people’s snowy drives and streets have started on the work messaging groups. This is usually the precursor to people calling in to say they can’t get in to work. It is very annoying when you can’t get out of your street safely but you know the main roads are ok.

Well, the amber warning of heavy snow was almost correct.

The snow is white, not amber :heehee:, and almost a centimetre deep so the country will come to a standstill. I've abandoned my plans for sunbathing today. :rolleyespink:

Snow has gone. Someone must have gone round with a hot air blower - or it could possibly have something to do with that wet stuff coming from the sky.

            Good morning all.

@Sheal I had to change my statistics about snow in November, no snow for the rest of the winter. It didn't work the third time. We also got snow.

There was no snow at 6 as the radar was showing and still no snow at 7. OH said it started snowing at 10 PM and took a picture for me.
It's raining currently but not much. I just took off the snow from the tree fern.
It's seems to be snowing above Cirencester and around Chipping Norton.
I'm glad that we have no frost.
1c currently, up to 12 c until 1 PM and then rain stops. This gives me a chance for a walk if the rain doesn't stop earlier.
I hope for all who are affected by snow all day that it doesn't stay long and you have no ice on the roads which stops you from going out.

Amber warning for a few flakes of snow!!!!!! just enough to make it look like it's a bit white
The local weather person did say "snow over high ground"

2c raining with a few flakes on the ground, looking at the ditch it's running well so we must of had good steady rain though out the night

The reality in many areas often is - a dusting. I think they've been paranoid ever since Michael Fish....
It hasn't arrived here yet, but we're used to it anyway when it does appear. The ice yesterday was a bigger problem though - especially when walking. O'night low was only minus 1, so we have a nice frost ,but it seems to be cloudy, so who knows. Zero just now at approx. 8.10 am and the predicted high is around 3 degrees. To be windy as well.

Yesterday was pretty dry with the aforementioned black ice everywhere. Roads were well gritted though, so it was fine for walking at the edges of them, and on the bits of pavements where it gradually thawed. The high was 3 degrees, but zero by early evening again, and the frost/ice came back.

Morning all. It is overcast and quite breezy and 16c. We are threatened with rain all day and even thunderstorms later. I do hope so and will keep everything crossed as we are desperate.

I'd have thought your part of the world would have been likely to get a nice wee dump @Valleysgirl. Like us up here, snow is a common factor of winter anyway. There was an 'icing sugar dusting' outside when I fed the birds a few minutes ago, which must have been through the night.
There's been plenty up north over the last week, and not just on the hills - which were looking rather splendid on the couple of clear days I could see them. All the southernmost Munros and Corbetts were gleaming
