Whats Your Weather Like April 2023

It is 14c, sunny and breezy. Our orange growers right now are concerned about some pest that is up North heading its way South so they are spraying more than normal.

 

I wonder if it's the leaf miner which can infect them with a bacterial disease?

Went for a lovely walk late afternoon and have only just got back. We saw a stunning sunset.

Unfortunately our overnight temperature hasn't risen. We are in a 'cool pocket' where we live and are always a degree or two lower than nearby towns/ villages. It's very noticeable just by turning into our lane even in the summer!

 

Well, that is the temperature up a bit but unfortunately, the wind has arrived with the increased temperatures. it actually felt chillier today, just because of the wind.

 

Only 4 c today but sunny mostly.
I can stick the daytime temperatures but dont like much below minus 2 overnight.

Forecast is minus 2 overnight here but it looks like we are in for some grim cold days next week.

 

Almost a heatwave today with the the temperature at 8C/46F - and still is. The snow has all but gone and it's been a grey, very still day.

 

A very cold night last night & when we got up this morning there was the forecasted freezing fog! Later I took a photo from the balcony:

Doesn't look much in the photo but the minute it took me to take the photo I nearly got frostbit!

The fog didn't really disappear till close to 1pm! Our max today was only 4C but we had -5 to start the day! There's also another yellow warning for freezing fog in place for tomorrow morning as well! Again our min is forecast to be around -5C or -6C. The max forecast for tomorrow is of only 3C!

Thats why I don't do pots in the Winter @Balc, especially small ones as it doesn't take much to freeze the roots.

We're currently at -4C and our minimum temp for tonight remains at -8C. We also still have a weather warning in place for freezing fog too.
