What's your weather like APRIL 2024

I don't think it has stopped raining here since last August! I still have post Winter tidying up to do in my garden but 'rain stopped play' seems to be the cry of the day.

 

10c was dry but now wet and windy

 

I thought they said we were going to have a storm called Kathleen
well it rained as usual, and there was a bit of a breeze, but it was definitely not a storm ... just normal weather I would say.

 

Looking at Windy.com I think perhaps the eye of the storm stayed further out to sea than predicted. Devon and Cornwall had some wild weather for a time. Here in Somerset we had lots of sunshine which was an unexpected bonus.

 

It started raining at 5pm yesterday and it was still raining heavily at 10.30pm. The wind really picked up as well.

It's dry at the moment but lots of cloud and the gusty wind is still there.

Good morning all.
I got up to glorious sunshine and was hopeful I’d do some more gardening today.
However, it is now chucking it down with 40mph winds. The forecast was for the rain to start from midday!!
Only getting to 14c today so more indoor jobs then!!

Not sure where in Carmarthenshire you are @Michael Hewett but we have had the most horrendous two days with storm Kathleen. Not only torrential rain but several hail storms as well. The wind has been quite frightening at times and the locals have been out kindly clearing fallen branches - and in several cases complete trees - from our country lanes. I am so ready for this awful winter to be over and a little glimmer of summer to appear.

 

Rain and wind overnight here too but not stormy. Now it's dull and overcast and rain is due this pm.

Better get on and shower and dress to go and see Tomato Team at the local plant fair before the heavens open.

 

Sunday. Cornwall is dark, overcast, Very Windy and damp. I put some washing out, believing the forecast. Wrong! I was planning a beach walk with my dog, not sure now.Yuck!

 

Morning. Windy overnight and rain forecast all day now, with a cheeky “thunder and lightning” icon sneaking in for this afternoon!

It’s interesting that people use different sites and apps for their weather forecasts. I might take a look at the one you use @simone_in_wiltshire, thank you.

My Mum used to swear by the forecast on Country File, aimed at farmers, so I’ll often check that one out. That is more a general forecast for the week ahead though, so for washing line dilemma then the apps that use satellite are best.

I live in a sheltered valley, although it points to the west, but we seem to avoid the worst winds here.
