What's your weather like APRIL 2024

We had a couple of hours moderately heavy rain yesterday late evening, 6mm in the gauge this morning. There's a bit in the forecast for around lunchtime today then nothing but spits and spots (with low probabilities) for the rest of the week. It's just still and a bit grey at the moment - what I call non-weather, not noticeably cold, warm, wet, windy, foggy etc.

 

It is up to 38f 3c and the weather guessers say it will be going up into the 70's (20's c) with sunshine until lunchtime. A nice little break from the cool temps we've been having.

The rain has stopped here for the moment. but the wind is noisy in the chimney, the big eucalyptus and the birches three or four gardens away are waving around quite dramatically… and it’s really chilly. I’ve put the heating on and it’s quite a while since I’ve had it on during the day. Brrr!

 

Well it has been a very hooley night and day. The early morning had loads of rain but now it is all sunshine and the WIND. All the trees are bending to the wind and hopefully none will fall down. Far too windy and cold to be out trying to do any gardening.

 

It’s turned very windy here, and showery. It was raining quite hard an hour or so ago, but that seems to have passed in favour of the showers. Feels cool with the wind.

We are definitely having too much weather!

Rain all afternoon yesterday, most of the evening and half last night. Heavy clouds today after a brief sunny start and lots of squally wind and occasional downpours this pm and so very dark and grey in between very short bursts of sun. It's howling out there but warm when the sun's out.

I'd like a couple of calm days please.

 

Its been dry and cloudy most of the day but we are getting sunny spells now.
Its windy and gusty but not too bad, I think its due to drop tonight and turn into a colder night than we have had for a long time.
Just hope we dont get frost, too many things have broken buds already.
Our maximum was around 11c so pretty cold.

 

Forecast for here is no frost and I have a strong feeling they will be right. However the overnight temperatures don't seem enough to risk trying toms outside. I will however look to start off some courgettes earlier than planned and throw them out early.

 

After yesterdays trip out to the Glens in sunshine, normal service has resumed, wind and rain, though both are easing off a bit 8 degrees and cloudy
