No, far from it ... to Canada (Montreal & Toronto), then The States (New York & Connecticut), then the UK (Bedfordshire), then The States (Alabama & South Carolina), then the UK (Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the IoW) ... then Portugal. Been here 23 years and here to stay!

Sunny, breezy and 18c here now. We are on British time.

What was your favourite place, weather/season wise @Victoria? Guess Portugal? (would be surprised if you said Wales tbh!)

I think when we've compared notes before, on the long-term averages our wettest month has less rain than your driest month @fairygirl. In the two years or so since I got my rain gauge, the highest monthly total I've recorded was 137mm and that was October 2023 which was exceptionally wet, getting on for three times the long-term average for October. I'm sure it won't be long before I'm on here grumbling about not enough rain for the garden .

I remember that @JennyJB , and it was funny because I always think your general location will have quite a bit of rain.

I was just reading earlier that there's already talk of possible hosepipe bans in England. I don't know if they're just covering their backs, and trying to push people into saving more water from now onwards, but doing something about the dreadful infrastructure in many areas, especially in the far south, would be more helpful to people, instead of expecting them to relentlessly pay more and more every year for their water supply.

Yes, Portugal tops the list. Alabama (North) was great (there for 14 years) but it was hot and very humid in the Summer. South Carolina is beautiful (Summerville heaving with Rhododendrums, Camellias, Azaleas, etc), but it too was hot and very humid. We really don't have Winter here and not hot and humid like the other two. And we are 20 minutes from the sea and 20 from the mountains.

                Summerville Park ...

Checked the forecast. Ok. So bed linen washed and put on the line....30 mins later a deluge. How can we get the forecast so wrong so often.
