What's your weather like APRIL 2024

No rain but still freezing here. Moved down here from Largs for all that South Coast sunshine I read about but at least we are now living close to grandchildren so that makes up for it all except my sweet peas and tomato seedlings will disagree as they want to get out there and spread their roots.

 

@waterbut, I'm not far from you. Spring down here is not usually as cold and dull and wet as this yr has been. Often it can be 16 degrees or more pretty continuously from mid March on. To still be sheltering overwintered things inside towards the end of April is very unusual.

 

Bright, sunny, a few cloudy bits and cold. Definitely not shorts weather.

 

We can't complain as we had 2 very nice dry days at the w/e, "grass" was cut and mower started okay after its winter sleep. Downside is watering the new plants yesterday as they are having free drinks today... Rain, rain and rain. Good news (if it happens) is the forecast from 09Jun24 to 31Jul24 is absolutely no rain - now then where are the spare water butts - for that hosepipe ban.

 

Our waterbutts are full again. When they get low, I'll be saving the wife's bath water.

 

Well yet again forecast wrong, sunny spells with rain about 5pm. What do we have.....grey clouds, low temps and rain since 10.30am and still coming down. Actually the garden does need it but it then stops us doing more in the garden that needs doing. Can't win.

Its bright rather than sunny now, the wind is lighter than yesterday but it looks like we have to wait until the weekend for anything warmer, when it will RAIN.

It's only 11c in the greenhouse with the door shut. I have not gone outside at all - just relying on the weather station sensor in the greenhouse to give me all the info I need!

 

Has been raining since 8 o’clock but wasn’t very much. Less than 1l.

 

Good gentle steady rain for much of the day here, 6.5 mm in the gauge and possibly a bit more in the forecast overnight. It's welcome after three dry days. It's forecast dry again until the weekend when there's a small to middling probability of some showers.

 

Windy old day did hit 10 degrees, but with the windchill it doesn't feel like it, met a pal for breakfast at the local distillery, so little gardening done today.

Good morning Logan and all others. Drizzle outside. Looking at the radar, looks like we will have more rain in the next days, which is good after I treated the soil with fertiliser.
