I thought my temperature gauge in the car was faulty when it said 6 degrees at 12:00! It hasn’t gone above 9 degrees today and the house isn’t much warmer. I have 4 layers on.

 

Thermal vest and ski sock for me @AuntyRach but it did turn out sunny this pm and warm enough in the polytunnel to strip off my big fleece.

@pete We've had 2 ash trees cut down because they were too close to teh house and were losing large branches every time there was a strom of strong winds. The tree surgeown checked the two big ones on the pond edge and decided they were OK after a light trim. The younger ones are all fine. I expect ash dieback will get here eventually and the two older ones will succumb first.

The forecast is for light showers overnight. Not sure I believe it tho.

While sitting at our favourite garden centre yesterday, OH said, "what I always wanted to see is the Chelsea Flower show". Being German which means pessimistic by nature, I said, "they should be sold out, you have to order cards for next year". Not if OH looks at the website. 5 minutes later, we got cards for the Saturday. I said, "must have fallen in popularity, they should be sold out, they probably start dismantling it on Saturday." Germans always find a hair in the soup
I just checked the show gardens and was quite amused when I saw the third garden, "the Flood Resilient Garden". Last year, the RHS was sure the drought resistant Mediterranean garden is the future.

Looking out of the window this morning, constantly falling rain and it will stay like this until lunch time. But good news is that the BBC is optimistic, they forecast warmer temperatures from Tuesday on.

Our forecast is for a dry day today. The washing machine is going to be working overtimeOh, and maybe the garden will get some attention too

 

Damp here, but brightening. O'night low of 3 degrees, and 5 just now [just after 8am] and the predicted high is around 10 or 11, as it's meant o get a bit sunnier later.

Yesterday was very nice, with a high of 13 for a little while. Cloudy and damper by early afternoon though, but ideal for gardening jobs.

After a rainy night…it’s now dry and clear!!

I’m definitely going to the plant fair now and a wash is on. There will be rain this afternoon but I’ll take this unexpected dry morning as a win.
