Fingers crossed for June....


getting that many days above average is good for this lot!

 

For the area where we live or used to live it's the groundwater that causes the damage not so much overflowing rivers: Thames Groundwater 2024.
The "Bournes" cause damage like Avebury Manor was flooded for the first time in 300 years after the Winterbourne raised the groundwater.
One gets an idea why they built their Castles along the Ridgeway, something I noticed when walking the Ridgeway for the first time in 2017. It was clear to me that there was something wrong with the theory that they had defensive character. No, I said, the rings hold the water, and the reason why they were at this unpleasant windy place is because it was too wet down there.
This winter should give many to think, I do hope they make the right conclusions of it.

These posts just highlight the impact of the wet months in areas that aren't used to so much rain. The recent 4 or 5 months of rainfall's not unusual at all up here in the west.
Today is just damp/overcast for now, and 6 degrees again. Rain for later.

Good morning all a bleak day we had a monsoon around 2 am and it’s rained non stop ever since,and forecasted for all day ,the gardens are a deluge pond overflowing ,real feel 4c at the moment with a high of 7c gloomy indeed.

 

11c and cloudy here in Norfolk … at least it’s not raining … yet …

Same old, same old weather!!
Rained from 8pm last night til 5.30am this morning.
We’ve got a dry spell now until 9am then another day of sunshine and showers!!
Will someone please turn the tap off up there!!
