What's your Weather Like August 2023/Closed

Today is now our hottest day this year so far (last year we went to 39c. Had my hair cut on Tuesday ... but it is still too hot!!!

We have had another warm day, not as much as yesterday, but very nice temps though tempered by the wind. lots of sunshine during the morning but halfway through the morning the clouds started to hide the sun. During the afternoon we had a lot more clouds until around 4pm when for a few hours we had more sunshine than clouds. It seems that will be the same story during the night - if we substitute sun for moon! Max today was in the region of 25C & tonight's minimum will be 15C.

Tomorrow we are forecast a similar day to today with 21C being our max & 16C our min. No rain forecast before Monday.

 

Thanks Logan. Just come in, it is 31c now and we have been sitting in our 'false Casadee' rain. Casadee is the diminutive name of our house which is Casadinho, which means 'small house' or 'little couple' or 'married' or a 'cookie' (I have a great recipe), depending on what area you come from.

16c sun was coming up but now tis cloudy
we could do with some dry weather as digging our spuds is hard work with all the soil sicking to them

A freshish breeze but frequent sunny intervals .
A bit cooler than yesterday but eating lunch at friends' house looks like an " al fresco " event. I am taking a fresh lemon and lime flan ,

We have quickly gone to 25c and the cicadas will soon be singing.

About our "rain garden adventures". We encountered the concept in the 70s when my Father owned a property at Lake Havasu, Arizona, where London Bridge was resurrected. There was a beach there with misting coming from the Palm trees. In fact J has just ordered a patio misting system from AliExpress (available on Amazom too) to extend our current system.

 

Raining here, light breeze and 16 degrees, I have not had to fill the water butts all season, they are overflowing again, a first in 20 years of living here, that tells a story of how wet it has been. Maybe convert my raised beds into paddy fields and try growing rice.................

 

It is 31c already so the a/c has gone on.
