What's your Weather Like August 2023/Closed

We've got a weather warning for thunder. Why do we need a weather warning for thunder ? It's only a noise in the sky.
You know there'll be heavy rain in a thunder storm and the roads could get a bit waterlogged, so use your sense !

 

We've got a warning for thunderstorms from 11am to 1pm but nothing as yet.
Rain showers and a gentle breeze from the south south west temp 16c feels like 17c.

 

Its how people are these days, they expect to told a warned about everything.
thinking for yourself is all in the past.
I just been out a few miles and it was warm and sunny, I get home and it looks like there has been a short sharp shower,
I think I should have been warned that was going to happen.

 

Yes we have thunder on the cards for today too but they've focussed our weather warning on unseasonably strong winds instead......we'll just wait and see what we get blessed with, at the moment it's just the wet stuff .

 

Everything is so localised at the moment .We were at my sister's yesterday and just as we were about to head home it poured down so we had to wait before starting the 10 min walk home. We arrived home to find everywhere completely dry!

 

Probably lower down on the chart it will have speeds for gusts, the one I'm looking at gives gusts on the IOW at 40mph and 33mph in Southampton.

 

.... Exactly Shiney that's our line of thinking too!!

They seem more concerned about our occasional puffs of light breeze rather than the thunder we're suppose to have all afternoon until early evening!!

The BBC's forecasting is so diabolical that you just have to laugh!!

 

It's really not even breezy!!!

At least our forecasts are fairly correct ... hot, hot, hot with a gusty breeze. Silves is one of the biggest Counties in Algarve and it is pretty much the same everyone in the Province (The Province being Algarve). My temp is currently showing 28c but we tend to be a couple of degrees cooler being in the orange groves.

 

Sunny and breezy until early afternoon. The wind has dropped and the clouds have gathered so I expect rain in the next hour. 16C/61F
