What's your Weather Like August 2023/Closed

Quite windy and overcast, not much rain but that could change later 16 degrees here.

 

So much for the thunder warning for the nambi pambies, we had soft gentle rain this morning and sunshine this afternoon, so the poor little nambi pambies needn't have worried.

 

Just had very heavy rain but now it's stopped.

 

Despite still being under an active weather warning for winds and having thunder still on our forecast until 8pm we have stillness and sunshine but only 18C.

 

Just had very heavy shower and went black and we have had some Thunder i had to go and stand by the back door and watch and have a nice smell of the storm, yes i know i'm silly but i like it

 

High only 32c now 28c with a nice breeze.

 

The power of nature @Jiffy , that's what makes storms worth watching.
Proper storms are quite rare here, just the odd crack of thunder and I cant remember the last time that happened.

 

11mm of rain since lunch time, not sure its gone yet but the sky is looking brighter.
Wind has dropped.

 

Heavy showers and strong winds and a very cool 17c max.

 

The high heat temp warning now goes on through Saturday!

 

It is 78f and cloudy- a bright cloudy. Plus there is a pleasant breeze. Lovely!

. Officially the wettest july on record in Lancashire and few surrounding areas

Good morning all

Though the majority of the day yesterday was dry, windy and warm we did have a shower - a very heavy shower! So heavy that for a couple of moments we had a whiteout! All that could be seen was a sort of white mist from the bouncing rain! Not seen this very often! It started at 2 o'clock but ended in about 10 mins but we had a great deal of water in that time!

We had no more rain for the rest of the day. The wind however became stronger and the sky was full of big dark clouds that seemed to threaten with another downpour at any moment.

We had put the clothes dryer outside on the balcony but fortunately I happened to be in the kitchen the moment the first few drops of rain came down so I quickly rushed to the balcony and brought it back in. Just in time as well!

For al the rain I didn't need to empty the saucers under the pots on the balcony railings, just goes to show how effective the foliage on plants can be at shedding water!
