Bits and pieces of rain and pretty windy.

Regarding all the warnings they keep putting out, I heard it said that although the storms/
/thunder/ gales etc. are not particularly bad, they are for the time of year.
Lots of people on holiday and travelling and even people camping, mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday downpour.

Slight breeze, with intermittent sunshine....not anywhere near as bad as what is forecast!!. Had a pleasant morning out in the garden.
I feel sorry for parents with little ones as they can't plan for days out with them if they rely on their daily forecast...just as I did back in the day with our brood.
They must be tearing their hair out.
Be brave and go for it!!!!:dbgrtmb:

Perhaps I should be included in that category I had to go downtown to do a little shopping but missed the bus by 10 seconds! I was forced to walk downtown in the rain, fortunately though it seemed to ease off a little till I was almost in town when it came down a bit harder again.

I came back home in the bus though!

The rain came at the time forecast & stopped - more or less at the time it was expected to! We have had a few hours without any more rain but I looked out the balcony window about 15 mins ago & it appears to be starting once again!

I got quite cold walking downtown, about 20 mins, in the rain & the cold! I have a circulation problem & lose the circulation in my fingers & other extremities. When I got to the supermarket the last joint in my central finger on my right hand had turned as white as snow! Several fingers on my left hand were in the same progress! Doubtless several toes were in the same progress as my left hand but I couldn't see them! After about half an hour the circulation returned. I bought a roast chicken for our lunch & held it in my right hand for at least 10 minutes but it made no difference.

We have had a max temp today of only about 14C! :yikes: Must be almost a record for the coldest August day this century - at least! When I got back home my wife was complaining she was cold & had tried to put the heating on but it wouldn't come on! To me the flat seemed warm enough but then it was colder outside. So I managed to get it to come on & we had it on for about 3 hours when I had to turn it off again as the heat was making me feel ill!

My wife also feels the cold more than I do (& the heat!) as she suffers from that joint & muscle illness (I can't remember what it's called at this moment) that causes pain & tenderness.
