What's your weather like August 2024

We were woken in the early hours by thunder, lightening and heavy rain. Got hardly any sleep as it was 28c in the bedroom and thundering. Had to shut the window and put earplugs in. Most of the yellow flowers on my musk shrub are now on the ground.

Now hot and steamy. At least the lawns have had a jolly good watering.

Quite overcast this morning, but forecast is dry with sunny intervals, 17 degrees is about perfect, grass needs cutting again.....................

 

I go by whether I have to top up the water butts or the wildlife pond, neither have had to be done this year so far, so wetter than last two years.

 

Drizabone here. High of 28 expected today but feeling like 31C which is a good deal cooler than the last few days but no relief for pots needing watering.

No rain in sight but temps for the next week are expected to be in the mid to high 20s and nights in th ehigh teens which will make sleeping easier.

Rain showers later and maybe a thunderstorm, but we hardly get them here in Redditch.

 

Drizzle this morning. Hopefully dry for the rest of the day as I need to strain the allotment.

 

Cloudy but warm here in North Walsham , Norfolk . Better for sightseeing I'd say off to Cromer just up the road to hunt out Cromer Crab !

 

26c outside, there was 1 thunder in the distance at 1 o’clock, followed by 5 rain drops, now sunshine, feels very hot. Don’t believe for a moment that any of the forecast 2 to 5 liter rain has ever made it to us.

Can’t wait for a grey and rainy day again. I prefer the change what weather concerns.

 

I'm sure we will get cold rainy days again, in fact I can guarantee it.
It sunny and 30c here today, yesterdays wind has dropped.

 

At the moment, steady rain (the first for 10 days), thunder, some lightning. Bliss. Still 27C, but that will break any day now.

 

Got to 33.5c, now 29.4c with a lovely gusty breeze and 48% humidity.

 

Windless with wall to wall sunshine. 21C/70F

 

There’s a simultaneous thunderstorm weather warning and a forecast of ‘0% chance of rain’ tonight! It wasn’t the hottest day of the week today but after a few days of heat, the house is the warmest it’s been all week.
