What's your weather like August 2024

@pete i don't want it to rain but we need it here, maybe you don't.

 

No I dont need it, nothing dies around here because I've never watered anything apart from veg, and I've not watered that this year.
I do have lots of plants in pots, some of them pretty big, so I water them often twice a day in hot weather, but shrubs and trees just have to get on with it, once established.

I dont grow many herbaceous perennials which I think is probably why I dont need to water.

Most of the stuff I grow prefers dryer conditions rather than soggy ones.

 

Overcast but quite warm, about 19c.

 

No chance of soggy areas here, even if it rains a lot.

Today is cloudy with a stiff breeze, but the rain that was forecast for this afternoon hasn't shown up yet. Maybe later

Had to go to Bristol this morning. It was grey but didn’t rain.
Breezy and windy here back home. Currently 40mph wind and 22c.

 

It has been very windy - the lid on the green bin kept blowing open.

They said it would rain at 4pm and it did - very promptly too. Hubby was up the ladder trimming the hedge and I was over the fence picking blackberries and the washing was out. That's why it rained.

 

It was sunny all morning but has clouded over this afternoon.
It was 24c this morning but dropped back to around 20c nowwith the cloud and the strong wind that has picked up.

Horrible all day. Overcast and Very humid. Not nice!

 

After a monsoon like down pour whilst we were in Montrose shopping, the sun has come out and we are promised a dry weekend.........................eye right.................

 

We were at 34c from 1-4pm, then down to 33c at 5pm and now 32c with a warm light breeze. so heading in the right direction!

That's good @pete about what you don't have to water. I only water the polyanthus along with path because it gets dry there and my hanging baskets and some pots.

Good morning Logan and all weather friends
We had a bit of rain yesterday evening. Can't have been much, no more than 1 or 2mm.
It's currently 13c and will go up to 23c, and sunshine all day.
Tomorrow, OH and I will be walking along the Kennet and Avon Canal from Trowbridge to Bradford on Avon and it looks promising good.

 

Cloudy, it's been raining not yet looked to see how much.
Still looks like we could get some more, needed a light on earlier.
