What's your weather like August 2024

ANother damp start here, although damp rather than wet. There was some pink sky/clouds when I got up about an hour ago. O'night low was 14 degrees [15 just now at approx. 7.30am] so very high for the time of year here. That seems to be a pattern with all the weather though - swings from one thing to another. The predicted high is around 18, and it's a mix of everything again, with some forecasts saying thunder/lightning later as well, so it's a toss a coin day.

Yesterday was wet until about 10am, when it eased, but I was away from 11am, and not back until evening, so not sure what happened the rest of the day. It had certainly cleared up a bit, judging by the rain gauge. The high was 18 degrees.

Hazy sun, calm. 19c going to low 30s.

 

A pretty sunny sky developing. Cool still at 16c but likely to heat up and give us a pleasant day ,

Cloudy and light winds from the south east temp 17c feels like 19c.

 

Heavy cloud and 15% chance of rain. Max 22c. It looks as though we need to go south east for the hotter weather - there seems to be a big difference in temps.

Yesterday was gloomy all day and it did rain after all, just as I finished mowing the lawn.

 

Pink clouds down here late evening , we saw flocks of swifts up high aswell . Bright and still having walked up the garden to put washing out so fingers crossed will stay dry to get out and do some pruning , dreaded Laurel. It’s 16c now .

Cornwall.

The dribbly rain finally came in around 4.00pm.
I woke up around 6.00am to a complete white out. Thick, low cloud. Couldn't see more than a few feet. It has almost cleared now but overcast, grey, dark and cool.

 

Suns out it's a bright breezy day which can only mean one thing....................cutting grass..................

 

Grass cut................................tick
Big Beech hedge hair cut..........mostly, rain stopped play(you know that wet stuff that auntie beeb said we would not get............grrrrr)
